Live Bee Relocation

Live bee relocation: honeycomb frames lifted out of an underground utility box

At Ben & Bees, we believe every bee colony deserves a chance, which is why bee relocation is our first choice on every job. Our live bee relocation service safely captures entire colonies, queen, workers, and brood, and transports them to local beekeepers and apiaries where they can thrive. It's the responsible, eco-friendly approach to bee removal.

Why Live Bee Relocation?

Honeybees are critical pollinators responsible for approximately one-third of the food we eat. Populations have been declining due to habitat loss, pesticides, and disease. By choosing live bee relocation over extermination, you're directly contributing to the health of South Florida's ecosystem.

Our bee relocation process is designed to minimize stress on the colony and maximize their chance of survival in their new home. We work with a network of local beekeepers who welcome healthy colonies.

How Live Bee Relocation Works

Our technicians carefully expose the colony, locate the queen, and transfer her along with workers and brood comb into specialized transport boxes. The entire colony is then relocated to a pre-arranged apiary. We complete the process by removing remaining honeycomb, cleaning the area, and patching any access point we opened, the same thorough cleanup included with our residential bee removal service.

Live bee relocation is possible in most situations, from established colonies to freshly arrived swarms handled through our swarm removal service. In rare cases where the colony's location or species makes safe relocation impractical, we'll discuss alternative approaches with you.

Supporting South Florida's Beekeepers

Every colony we relocate supports local agriculture and biodiversity. Our beekeeper partners use these colonies for honey production, crop pollination, and colony breeding programs. When you choose Ben & Bees, you're part of a sustainable cycle that benefits everyone. Explore our full range of bee removal services, or call today to schedule humane bee relocation.

From Our Work
  1. 01

    Structural hive removal

Colonies inside walls, soffits, roofs and ceilings. We open just enough to reach the hive, take out the bees and the comb so nothing is left to melt, rot or draw a new swarm, and patch the access point.

  2. 02

    Live relocation whenever possible

Relocation is how we do the removal. We vacuum the bees gently, find the queen when we can, and move the colony to a local apiary whenever the situation allows.

  3. 03

    Honeybee specialists in South Florida

Honeybee removal is our focus. Year-round warmth here means colonies never really stop building, and we see new hiding spots every week.
